A fistful of Wishes -The Poem of the magic Pond JL SMITH

         A fish bowl of Wishes
by: Angel of Authenticity 01-21-25
A wiggle worm wiggled on a hook,
A hole in his side, and trouble afoot.

He prayed a prayer as his voice shook

Please lord let me return home to my nook

The man mid-cast, dreaming of a bite,
He whistled as he pulled his line tight
"Surely I am good enough to eat, today  right?
He waited intensely -for a splish  splashy fight

Just below the water a fish on his knees
Wishing for a meal the fish pleads
Please lord don't let anything capture me
I am just a humble fish and want to be free

Wiggle worm hit the pond with a ker-plop,
Flew off the hook—the bobber did not.
The man looked up like he thought he got
A victory and it  was coming in hot

The fish blinked twice, thought, “Could it be?
A worm so fine, and it’s all for me?”
Fish didn't waste no time or skip a beat
worm escaped  as if he had  grown feet

The line went slack; the man stood still,
The fish flopped wildly, testing his skill
The hook was snagged  in the fishes gill
It tore lose to fishes thrill

The man reeled in fast, the fish dinner he could taste
But No fish, no worm his line as empty as his face
Frustrated, he yelled, losing his grace
Am I Not good enough to eat? What a waste !

But then from behind came a breath of air—
The growling sigh of a hungry bear.
Before the man could run, froze in a stare
The bear had dinner & returned home to her lair

Down in the pond, the fish swam slow,
Nursing his wound just glad to go
The worm vanished-into a  hole
Missing was the man,and his pole

Indeed  answered from wishes made
The worm off the hook, and the fish got away
The man proved worthy enough to eat- I'd say!
Little was it known the mans wife followed him that day

From the other  end of the fishing retreat
The wife of the man prayed for his defeat
She wanted a divorce -Her husband a cheat
She prayed for his heart to be ripped piece by piece.

Investigators were mighty suspicious
Where is the man? Who could have done this
The bear testified- He was delicious
The woman wasnt known for being malicious

The Cop decided to make a wish  from his canoe
He wishe for a woman any would do
as long as she liked going bare, and would make him food
Todays your lucky day said the bear to the dude

When it comes to a magical spot  wish big
to do this right  reach deep and dig
Like mother bears cries tired of eating just   figs
ona diet t she prayed for a man to cheat with and maybe a pig

The canoe floated empty now-No cop around
The investigation went up in the air and down in the ground
They search turned up nothing all that was found
wishing for a canoe a boy sat with his hound.

The moral of this story-A tail of a spot
When prayers are spoke-Your wish you got
Be careful what your fishing for, or what your not
You just might end up in a scorned womans plot!
